What You'll Do as Executive Director
As Executive Director, you will be at the helm of an organization that is making a difference every day. You’ll guide the association in achieving its mission and strategic objectives while leading with vision, integrity, and a passion for long-term care. You’ll work collaboratively with members, stakeholders, and government leaders to enhance the services and opportunities available to our members and elevate the profession as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
- Advocate for Long-Term Care Providers: Represent MHCA and its members in state and federal legislative matters, working closely with government agencies, legislators, and industry leaders. Advocate for reimbursement policies, quality standards, and other critical issues facing long-term care.
- Lead with Vision: Drive the strategic direction of MHCA, ensuring the association’s mission and long-term goals are met. Stay at the forefront of healthcare regulations and trends, ensuring our members thrive in a constantly evolving environment.
- Build and Maintain Relationships: Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with members, stakeholders, board members, and external organizations to maximize support and impact. Serve as the primary liaison with the American Health Care Association (AHCA) and other industry organizations, ensuring MHCA remains at the forefront of national trends.
- Oversee Operations and Programs: Administer a wide range of programs and services designed to educate, inform, and support MHCA members. Lead the planning and execution of key events such as Annual Conferences & Tradeshows, Continuing Education Programming, and Events for Large and Small groups. Ensure the seamless management of member services, including recruitment, retention, and member engagement.
- Manage Financial Health: Oversee the financial stability of the association, ensuring sound investment strategies and alignment with long-term goals. Prepare and present budgets to the board, ensuring financial sustainability.
- Build a High-Performance Team: Lead and inspire the MHCA staff, providing mentorship, development opportunities, and fostering a culture of accountability and professionalism. Manage recruitment, staff performance, and the execution of daily operations with efficiency and care.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a dynamic leader who is passionate about making a difference in the long-term care industry. To succeed in this role, you will need a combination of the following experience and skills:
- Proven Leadership: Experience in an executive leadership role, with a track record of managing teams, strategic planning, and organizational growth.
- Policy Advocacy: A deep understanding of the long-term care sector and experience in lobbying, advocacy, or government relations.
- Relationship Builder: Ability to establish and nurture relationships with diverse stakeholders, from government officials to industry partners and internal teams.
- Strategic Thinker: Visionary and forward-thinking, with the ability to anticipate trends and lead MHCA toward success.
- Communication Excellence: Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively articulate MHCA’s mission and goals to diverse audiences.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher: Preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Helena, Montana: Candidates should reside or be willing to relocate to the Helena area.
